SWADS – Mental Health Peer Support Group

SWADS is an award-winning peer support group, run by and for people with lived experience of mental health issues.

Since 2013, we have welcomed hundreds of people from across South Wales looking for support from those who really understand what it’s like to live with such difficulties. We are proud to be a local, independent peer-led community that really helps make a big difference to people’s lives.

Our aim is to provide an outlet for people to discuss their problems in an informal, open, friendly and social environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgement, and to alleviate the feelings of isolation, loneliness and despair which often accompany illnesses such as anxiety and depression.

We have events that appeal to everyone, including regular coffee meets, walks, lunches, board games and quiz nights, art therapy, support group meetings, badminton, mindfulness and more, all organised specifically to minimise anxiety for new and regular members alike.
